Prof. Leonardo André Ambrosio has recently been invited to join the the National 111 center for Optoelectronic Perception Science and Technology under Complex Environment at Xidian University (XDU), Xi'an city, China, as an "Overseas Academic Expert". As an overseas expert of the national 111 center, prof. Ambrosio is expected to visit XDU from 2019 to 2021.
Approved in November, 2016 by the Ministry of Education and State Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs of China, Xidian University established the Overseas Expertise Introduction Center for Discipline Innovation（National 111 Center）of Optoelectronic Perception Science and Technology under Complex Environment. Over a period of five years (2017-2021), this program will support joint research effort on fundamental theories, key technologies and novel applications in a variety of research fields, including optoelectronic characteristics of targets and environment, optoelectronic detection technology, and optoelectronic information and image processing. Supported by this program, the renowned international researchers are invited to visit Xidian University for research collaboration.

XDU has established cooperative relationships with 144 universities and institutions in more than 80 countries and regions. 62 joint laboratories have been founded with multinational corporations, including Microsoft, IBM, Intel, SAP, TI, AD, etc.
